In the first quarter of 2025, the top five social networking apps on iOS in Europe showcased varied performance trends, according to data from Sensor Tower. Here’s a closer look at their weekly downloads, revenue, and active user metrics.

Threads maintained a strong presence with weekly downloads fluctuating between 672K and 849K. Active users steadily increased from 14.2M to 14.5M by the end of March.

Telegram Messenger experienced notable revenue, peaking at $1.4M in early February. Downloads ranged from 352K to 484K weekly, while active users remained stable around 48.7M.

WhatsApp Messenger saw consistent user engagement, with active users growing slightly from 135.8M to 136.6M. Weekly downloads decreased from 531K to 230K, and revenue hovered around $157.

Facebook demonstrated a steady user base, with active users slightly declining from 86.1M to 83.5M. Downloads started at 334K, tapering to 214K by the quarter's end. Revenue varied, peaking at $209K in early January.

Google Meet saw a rise in downloads from 144K to 265K mid-quarter, with active users increasing from 387K to 467K. The app did not generate revenue during this period.
